About Your Portrait Session

Our luxury 2000 sq. ft. studio is booked exclusively for your use for the duration of your portrait shoot.  Relax in the comfortable seating area while the kids get accustomed to their new surroundings. The studio is fully air-conditioned so we can warm things up or cool down as needed.   We have a private changing area and bathroom for your convenience.  The Studio is open by appointment 6 days – Monday  to Saturday – 10 am to 6 pm.  Late evening appointments are available on selected weekday evenings.  Your session takes approximately one hour.  Newborn sessions can take longer, so come prepared with feeds and changes.

Before your session

The first stage of your portrait photography experience  begins with a portrait planning session. This can take place in the studio or we can chat over the phone.  We will discuss your budget, what you have in mind, appropriate clothing to wear for the session, etc.  We can show you different frame-sizes and photography collections which are designed with you and your home in mind. Whether it’s individual portraits of each of the children, a portrait of all the kids together or a family portrait you have in mind, once you’ve had your portrait planning session you will be fully prepared for your photography shoot.

After the session

A further appointment will be needed to view your images. After your photoshoot, we will carefully edit and prepare the best images from your session.  We will ask you to take a photo on your phone of the wall where you plan to hang your finished pictures.  We can then upload this image to our software and show you exactly what your framed portrait(s) will look like when displayed.  This will give you a good indication of what will work best for your space.  Once you have made your selection, we will enhance and finish your images to create beautiful works-of-art for your wall.

Fill out your query in the Contact Us section. Alternatively, come in for a chat and we will explain the process in greater detail, show you samples and answer any queries which we have not addressed here.

How much will my portraits cost?

Packages start at €190. Every package includes:

  • Sitting of up to an hour
  • Bespoke framed portrait.
  • Lo-res image for your Facebook profile.

 Can I purchase unframed prints?

Yes. Smaller unframed gift sizes of your chosen image – perfect for grandparents –  are available to purchase. These start at €30.

How can I view my images?

Images can only be viewed by appointment in the studio. We offer flexible appoinments both day and evening to suit your schedule.  By sitting down with us we can show you exactly what the images will look like with different finishes and in various sizes.

Can you take photographs at my house or at another location?

Yes.  We will be happy to come to your house or if you’d prefer outdoor shots, we can go to the park or other location.  Contact us and we can discuss your requirements.

Do you do Newborn sessions?

Yes.  We recommend taking the shots within the first 14 days to capture the real newborn look and particularly if you’d like those lovely sleepy poses.  Let us know your due date and we will work around that. Because of the time required for newborn sessions, we do not take other children during the newborn sessions.  The sessions often last a few hours, so come prepared with plenty of feeds and changing gear. The studio will be nice and toasty for baby’s comfort so dress in layers youself in case you feel too hot. We provive props and accessories – the headbands, lace wraps, fluffy blankets etc. If you have anything of your own that you’d like to use bring that along and we will be happy incorporate it into the shoot.

My budget is small, so what can you do for me?

Please always let us know what your budget is and we will advise you of your options and will do our best to work within this. See also Mini Sessions below.

What should I wear for my session?

Dress comfortably in simple clothing. We recommend keeping it as plain as possible – simple white or black t-shirts or shirts with plain pants or jeans work well.  if you are wearing colour, stick to block colours and try to co-ordinate all family members.  Avoid strong patterns, writing, or very bright colours.  Dark clothing minimises body size, light tones emphasise body shape.  Long sleeves generally look better than short sleeves.  If you are unsure, please feel free to bring an extra shirt or top with you and Karl will advise you on what will work best.

Mini-Sessions & Special Offers

From time-to-time we run limited availability sittings that are kind to your pocket. Ask to be added to our mini-sessions mailing list.  Included in the mini session is a sitting of half an hour and one framed black & white image at a great price.   Although the prices are reduced for these sessions, like all of our portrait work, we never compromise on image, print and framing quality. (T&Cs may apply – please enquire at time of booking).
